USA Track & Field (USATF) is the national governing body for track and field, cross country running, and road running in the United States. USATF is a member of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). The organization is responsible for selecting and training the United States Olympic and Paralympic teams in track and field.

USATF was founded in 1893 as the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The AAU was the governing body for all amateur sports in the United States until 1979, when it was split into separate organizations for each sport. USATF became the governing body for track and field in 1980.
