The University of North Texas (UNT) is a public research university in Denton, Texas. Founded in 1890, UNT is the largest university in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and the fourth-largest university in Texas. UNT has an enrollment of over 39,000 students and offers over 140 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

UNT is a member of the Texas A&M University System and is classified as a Tier One research university by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. UNT is also a Hispanic-serving institution (HSI) and a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).
