Black Futures Lab is a non-profit organization dedicated to building power for Black people, powered by data, research, policy, narrative change, and culture. We are committed to transforming the systems and institutions that perpetuate racial inequity and injustice, and to creating a more just and equitable future for all Black people.

Our work is centered around four key pillars:

* **Data and research:** We collect, analyze, and disseminate data on the lived experiences of Black people in the United States. This data is used to inform our policy advocacy, narrative change, and culture work.
* **Policy advocacy:** We advocate for policies that promote racial equity and justice. We work with policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels to develop and implement policies that address the root causes of racial inequality.
* **Narrative change:** We work to change the way that Black people are represented in the media and popular culture. We amplify Black voices and stories, and challenge harmful stereotypes and narratives.
* **Culture:** We support and promote Black culture and creativity. We believe that culture is a powerful force for change, and we are committed to using culture to build a more just and equitable future for Black people.

Black Futures Lab was founded in 2016 by a group of Black activists, researchers, and policymakers. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and we are headquartered in Washington, D.C.
