The Women's Refugee Commission (WRC) is a global non-profit organization that works to improve the lives and protect the rights of women, children, and families displaced by conflict and persecution. Founded in 1989, WRC provides direct services to refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in over 20 countries, and advocates for policies that promote their rights and well-being. WRC's work is based on the belief that all people have the right to live with dignity and security, regardless of their circumstances. WRC has been recognized for its work by a number of organizations, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the World Economic Forum. In 2016, WRC was awarded the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize.
