WJLA-TV, virtual channel 7 (UHF digital channel 34), is an ABC-affiliated television station licensed to Washington, D.C., United States. The station is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, as part of a duopoly with Springfield, Virginia-licensed CW affiliate WDCW (channel 50). However, Sinclair currently operates WJLA-TV under a local marketing agreement (LMA) with Tegna Inc., which owns Washington-licensed independent station WUSA (channel 9). The two stations share studios within the Capitol One Arena complex in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington; WJLA uses WUSA's transmitter in Tenleytown, D.C.

WJLA-TV's programming is simulcast on low-power translator W07BW-D (channel 7) in Waldorf, Maryland, to improve coverage in Southern Maryland.

The station was originally founded in 1947 as WTTG by the Washington Post Company. It was the first television station in Washington, D.C., and the fourth in the United States. The station was an affiliate of the DuMont Television Network until DuMont's demise in 1955, after which it became an independent station. In 1958, WTTG became an affiliate of the CBS Television Network.

In 1986, the Washington Post Company sold WTTG to the Fox Broadcasting Company, which converted the station into its owned-and-operated station for the Washington, D.C., market.

In 2014, Fox sold WTTG to Sinclair Broadcast Group, which moved the Fox affiliation to WTTG's former sister station WDCA (channel 20). Sinclair then entered into a local marketing agreement with Tegna to operate WJLA-TV.

WJLA-TV is the flagship station of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which is the largest owner of television stations in the United States. Sinclair owns or operates 193 television stations in 89 markets, reaching approximately 40% of U.S. households. Sinclair's stations include affiliates of all four major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox), as well as several independent stations.

WJLA-TV is a leading source of news and information for the Washington, D.C., area. The station's newscasts are consistently ranked among the highest-rated in the market. WJLA-TV also produces a number of local public affairs programs, including "Potomac Watch" and "The John Solomon Reports."
