Trent University (Trent) is a public university in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. It is a primarily undergraduate university with graduate programs offered through Trent's Graduate School. Trent was established in 1964 as a non-denominational liberal arts and science university. The university is named after the River Trent in England, which flows through the city of Nottingham, where Trent University's parent institution, the University of Nottingham, is located.
