Tali.org is a membership organization composed of individuals, agencies, and companies committed to advancing inclusion and accessibility for the world’s more than one billion people with disabilities. Founded in 1983 as the Trace Research & Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we were originally funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). Tali.org is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to inform, educate, and connect policymakers, service providers, researchers, and people with disabilities in order to advance policies, services, and practices that enhance the lives of people with disabilities. To achieve our mission, we engage in a wide range of activities, including: - Research: We conduct research on a variety of topics related to disability, including employment, education, transportation, and healthcare. Our research findings are used to inform policy and practice. - Education: We provide training and technical assistance to policymakers, service providers, and people with disabilities. Our training programs help participants to understand the needs of people with disabilities and to develop effective strategies for meeting those needs. - Advocacy: We advocate for policies and practices that promote the inclusion of people with disabilities. We work with policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure that the voices of people with disabilities are heard. - Collaboration: We collaborate with a wide range of organizations and individuals to advance our mission. We work with disability organizations, government agencies, businesses, and foundations to create a more inclusive world for people with disabilities.
