SW Health Research Association (SWHA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Tucson, AZ. We are a consortium of healthcare providers, researchers, and community members working together to improve the health of our community. We do this by conducting and supporting research, providing education and training, and advocating for policies that promote health equity.

SWHA was founded in 1999 by a group of healthcare providers who were concerned about the lack of research on health issues in the Southwest. The organization has since grown to include over 100 members from a variety of disciplines, including medicine, nursing, public health, and social work.

SWHA's research program focuses on four main areas:

1. Health disparities: We study the causes and consequences of health disparities in the Southwest, and we develop and test interventions to address these disparities.
2. Rural health: We research the unique health challenges faced by rural communities in the Southwest, and we develop and implement programs to improve access to care and health outcomes in these communities.
3. Environmental health: We study the impact of environmental factors on health, and we develop and implement programs to reduce environmental exposures and improve health outcomes.
4. Health policy: We conduct research to inform health policy decisions, and we advocate for policies that promote health equity.

In addition to our research program, SWHA also provides education and training to healthcare professionals and community members. We offer a variety of workshops, conferences, and online courses on topics such as health disparities, rural health, environmental health, and health policy.

SWHA is also a strong advocate for health equity. We work with policymakers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote policies and programs that improve the health of all people in the Southwest.
