**SUTENT (sunitinib malate)** is an oral, multi-targeted receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of:
* **Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST)**
* **Advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC)**
* **Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET)**

As of March 2023, SUTENT has been approved in over 50 countries worldwide.

SUTENT is a kinase inhibitor that targets multiple RTKs, including:
* Vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs)
* Platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFRs)
* c-Kit
* FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3)

By inhibiting these RTKs, SUTENT blocks signaling pathways that are involved in tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis.

In clinical trials, SUTENT has shown promising results in the treatment of GIST, RCC, and pNET. For example, in a phase III trial in patients with advanced GIST, SUTENT was shown to improve progression-free survival (PFS) compared to placebo (12.5 months vs. 6.4 months). In a phase III trial in patients with advanced RCC, SUTENT was shown to improve PFS compared to interferon-alpha (11.2 months vs. 5.9 months).

SUTENT is generally well-tolerated, with the most common side effects being:
* Fatigue
* Diarrhea
* Nausea
* Vomiting
* Rash
* Hand-foot syndrome
* Hypertension

SUTENT is a potent and effective treatment option for patients with GIST, RCC, and pNET. It is generally well-tolerated and has a manageable side effect profile.
