Skyroot is an Indian space technology startup founded in 2018 by former ISRO scientists Naga Bharath Daka, Pawan Kumar Chandana and Bharath Daka. The company is headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Skyroot's mission is to make spaceflight affordable and reliable for small satellite operators. The company is developing a series of launch vehicles, including the Vikram series of rockets, which are named after the founder of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. Skyroot's first launch vehicle, the Vikram-I, is a suborbital rocket designed to carry small satellites into low Earth orbit. The Vikram-I is scheduled to make its maiden flight in 2023. Skyroot is also developing the Vikram-II, a larger launch vehicle that is capable of carrying payloads of up to 500 kg into low Earth orbit. The Vikram-II is scheduled to make its maiden flight in 2024.
