The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) is the regional accrediting body for the eleven U.S. states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia, as well as Latin America and other international sites that offer at least a bachelor's degree. It is one of six regional accrediting agencies in the United States that are recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

SACSCOC was founded in 1895 and is headquartered in Decatur, Georgia. The commission is responsible for accrediting over 1,000 colleges and universities in its region. It also provides a variety of other services to its member institutions, including training, consultation, and research.

SACSCOC's mission is to "assure the quality of higher education" in its region. The commission does this by evaluating institutions based on a set of standards that address all aspects of institutional quality, including academic programs, faculty, students, governance, and financial resources. Institutions that meet SACSCOC's standards are accredited, which means that they are recognized as meeting the minimum requirements for quality higher education.

SACSCOC accreditation is voluntary, but it is highly respected by employers and other educational institutions. Accreditation can also help institutions to attract students and faculty, and to secure funding.
