PCC Community Colleges (PCC) is the moniker of a pair of two-year colleges located in Pasadena, California. PCC began in 1924 when the city's John Muir Technical High School began offering evening classes. Local voters two years later voted in favor of establishing an official junior college district. In 1928, the designated campus opened on Colorado Boulevard in the city's Playhouse District. Over the past century, PCC has undergone several expansions that have seen the addition of multiple satellite campuses, the most notable of which is the one in nearby Monrovia. In addition to Pasadena City College and the Monrovia campus, the PCC brand also includes the Center for the Arts, an educational entity dedicated to community outreach and lifelong learning, as well as the PCC Scholars Program, a program for gifted and talented students in the San Gabriel Valley. Also a part of the PCC collective is the Pacific Asia Museum, which is operated by the college but is located in nearby Glendale. The college offers more than 100 career and technical education programs as well as associate degrees and certificates designed for transfer to four-year institutions.
