Northern Taiwan Society of Education (N.T.S.E) was initial established to be an academic group of educators and scholars from various universities in northern Taiwan on 28th of August. 2004. In 2007, N.T.S.E obtained official approval from the Ministry of the Interior to be an official academic organization. The main purposes of the organization is to strengthen academic exchange and research cooperation between universities, to improve educational quality, and promote educational reform.

N.T.S.E. regularly holds academic seminars, conferences, workshops, and other activities to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge among its members and to promote educational reform. The organization also publishes a journal, the Northern Taiwan Journal of Education, which features articles on a wide range of educational topics.

N.T.S.E. is a member of the Taiwan Association of Universities and Colleges (TAUC) and the International Association of Universities (IAU). The organization has also established partnerships with a number of universities and organizations around the world, including the University of California, Berkeley, the National Institute of Education, Singapore, and the Asia-Pacific Association for Teacher Education.
