The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) is a network of researchers, clinicians, and other professionals who are dedicated to improving the lives of children and families who have experienced traumatic events. The NCTSN was founded in 2000 by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and is currently funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

The NCTSN's mission is to "advance the science and practice of preventing, assessing, and treating the effects of traumatic stress on children and their families." The NCTSN does this by conducting research on the causes and effects of traumatic stress, developing and disseminating evidence-based interventions, and providing training and technical assistance to professionals who work with children and families who have experienced trauma.

The NCTSN has made significant contributions to the field of child traumatic stress. For example, the NCTSN has developed a number of evidence-based interventions for children and families who have experienced trauma, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). The NCTSN has also developed a number of resources for professionals who work with children and families who have experienced trauma, including the NCTSN Child Trauma Academy and the NCTSN Resource Center.
