The National Council of Provincial Councils (NCPC) is a statutory body established by the Constitution of South Africa, 1996. The NCPC is composed of the Premiers of all nine provinces of South Africa. It is responsible for promoting the interests of the provinces and ensuring that the national government takes into account the views of the provinces when making decisions. The NCPC also provides a forum for intergovernmental cooperation and coordination between the national and provincial governments.

The NCPC has a number of functions, including:

• Advising the national government on matters affecting the provinces;
