Mendham Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The township was incorporated as Mendham Township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 23, 1798, from portions of Hanover Township. The township was named for Mendham, Oxfordshire, England. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 5,814, reflecting an increase of 223 (+4.0%) from the 5,591 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 332 (+6.3%) from the 5,259 counted in the 1990 Census.

The township is served by the Mendham Township School District, which operates three schools serving students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The district's high school students attend West Morris Central High School in Chester Township, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Chester Township School District.

Mendham Township is located in the north-central part of Morris County, approximately 25 miles (40 km) west-northwest of New York City. The township is bordered by Chester Township to the north, Randolph Township to the east, Harding Township to the south, and Bernardsville to the west. The Passaic River forms the township's western border.

The township is home to several notable landmarks, including the Ralston Schoolhouse, which was built in 1856 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places; the Mendham Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1735 and is the oldest church in the township; and the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club, which was founded in 1893 and is one of the oldest golf clubs in the United States.
