The Laurens Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals in Laurens County, South Carolina. We are a no-kill shelter that provides a safe and loving environment for dogs and cats that have been abandoned, neglected, or abused. We also offer a variety of programs and services to help keep pets in their homes and out of the shelter, including adoption counseling, pet food assistance, and low-cost spay and neuter services.

The Laurens Humane Society was founded in 1973 by a group of concerned citizens who were dedicated to improving the lives of animals in Laurens County. Over the years, we have grown from a small, volunteer-run organization to a full-service animal shelter with a staff of dedicated professionals. We are proud to have helped thousands of animals find their forever homes and to have made a difference in the lives of countless others.

We are a member of the Humane Society of the United States and are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). We are also a United Way agency.

Our mission is to provide a safe and loving environment for animals in need, to promote responsible pet ownership, and to advocate for the humane treatment of all animals. We believe that every animal deserves a chance to live a happy and healthy life.

We are a no-kill shelter, which means that we do not euthanize animals for space or time. We believe that every animal deserves a chance to find a loving home. We work hard to find homes for all of the animals in our care, and we are proud to have a 90% adoption rate.
