KOAM News Now is the NBC-affiliated television station for the Joplin–Pittsburg, Missouri–Kansas market. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 33 (or virtual channel 7 through PSIP) from a transmitter in rural Jasper County, Missouri, near the community of Duquesne, and maintains studios on West 7th Street in Joplin. The station is owned by Nexstar Media Group. An analog repeater, KOAM-TV (analog channel 13), is located on Reding Mountain south of Joplin.

KOAM-TV began broadcasting on September 20, 1953. It was founded by George and Mike Abramson, who also owned radio station WMBH (1450 AM, now KKOW). The station originally operated as an independent station, but became an NBC affiliate in 1955. In 1956, it added an ABC affiliation. KOAM-TV lost its ABC affiliation to KODE-TV (channel 12) in 1969, but regained it in 1980. In 1994, the station dropped its ABC affiliation again, this time to KSNF (channel 16).

In 1997, KOAM-TV was sold to Nexstar Broadcasting Group. In 2002, the station launched a digital subchannel on UHF channel 33.1, which carried programming from The WB. In 2006, the subchannel was converted to a MyNetworkTV affiliate. In 2009, the subchannel was converted to a CW affiliate.

In 2012, Nexstar Broadcasting Group merged with Media General. As a result of the merger, KOAM-TV became a sister station to KSNF. In 2014, KOAM-TV launched a new website, KOAMNewsNow.com.

KOAM News Now is the market leader in local news and weather coverage. The station's newscasts are consistently rated number one in the Joplin–Pittsburg market. KOAM News Now also produces a number of local programs, including "The KOAM Morning Show," "The KOAM Midday Show," and "The KOAM Evening News."
