The highlight, re: this topic, is that it "requires dealers to post a Buyers Guide in every used car they offer for sale." and "The Buyers Guide must tell you:" (among other things) "to ask to have the car inspected by an independent mechanic before you buy".

So, the price on this unregistered new Canadian car was almost us$2,000 lower than its estimated Edmund's market value as an used vehicle, and my base warranty lasts until mid-2003. Moreover, my price included a Ram-Air hood (just the hood, no air-induction system), which was part of an us$2,300 option which I did not apply for getting Edmund's prices.
