Oh yes something else I forgot to say (which was the initial reason for joining this forum!). ovex certainly with me, hadn't even cleared the worms by the 3rd night (at least 72 hours) after taking the tablet. By the 4/5th nights though, symptoms dramatically subsided, so yes, could take time.

Here is my experience, which I hope adds information that is genuinely helpful and also new to the war against threadworms. I did all the right things - ovex, cleaning, children trained not to scratch, scrub nails and wash bottoms in the morning.

Dec 6, 2010 · Just take one dose and I think once it's worked it way through your system they die, but you all need to take a second dose 2 weeks later to kill the hatchlings from the adults you've just killed. Also wash botties daily. I'm paranoid about them and am continually checking, always keeping ovex in, costing us a fortune.

We noticed last week that DC had them and treated with ovex on Thursday. 8 year old has had a lot of urgent trips to the toilet since then, and every time there are many, many live worms in his stools and on his bum. He’s already pooped twice this evening.

I once, ages ago when the very young one had them got a prescription for a massive bottle of non branded treatment from the pharmacy. It's a shame that ovex is the only over the counter medicine availble as it's quite pricey when dosing the whole family twice.
