It catches a good percentage of accidents whether it’s from a police report, insurance claim or a body shop reporting the work but it’s not 100%. Its a good guide but don’t skip inspecting the car just because it has a clean car fax. Most people won't put up that much money to pay for body damage out-of-pocket.

Huge Discrepancy between AutoCheck Report and CarFax Report.

Jan 22, 2022 · AutoCheck and Carfax are both automotive sales tools. Keep that in mind, they sell their services to dealers far more than they do to consumers. And they get their information from data sharing agreements. So their info is only as good as their agreements in your region. 1. DrPlammenstein. • 2 yr. ago.

Discount on carfax or any other way to get car history?

Oct 24, 2023 · Paying around $50 per each car I want to see the history for seem quite a bit. Thank you! Carfax is useless unless it was dealer service, in an accident where the RMV or insurance reported. The best thing to do is to have an independent mechanic of your choice inspect. The cost will be around $150, but it's worth it.

My guess is that the car was transferred from TX to CA by the auction house at this time. The next title issue to a private owner (current seller's buddy) didn't happen until 24 Dec 2012. The car was sold to the current owner on 18 Feb
