WEBJun 28, 2022 · blackfencer steel in general is a bit too soft and AFAIK every metal sword of theirs (except for the Feder) has edges that are too narrow to be durable. I've got one of their sabres and it has taken a few very nasty notches from sparring while the Kvetun Eastons I used it against are still more or less pristine.

WEBDec 26, 2020 · 10/10 would recommend Kingston Arms - especially their Bastard Tourney Sword or similar - nearly the same price, more experience making steel swords, and better reputation for customer service. I like blackfencer for synthetics but honestly haven’t tried their steel or heard of anyone who has. Could be ok but no idea.

WEBAug 30, 2023 · Heard similar things about blackfencer stuff but no personal experience. Get a Sigi King, it's better than both of these. Fabri has the advantage of being able to choose flex and thicker edges, but at least the longsword is a bit chonkier than blackfencer. I'd say blackfencer has better hilts.

We got the normal version and the edge shaped - the difference is marginal. The latter has less flex and a bit less bounce.
