6.5x45 / 6.5 TCU / 6.5mm-.223 - Shooters' Forum
WEBMay 3, 2012 · One based on a .223 Rem case is particularly attractive to me for the ease in obtaining brass and such. The two cartridges that most immediately come to mind is the 6x45 and 300 ACC. Then, I came across the 6.5 TCU, but haven't found much info on it outside of silhouette pistol loads. Why the lack of info?

Forum.accurateshooter.comThoughts on the 6x45 - Shooters' Forum
WEBDec 11, 2022. #16. I had the 6-223/6x45/6TCU for years in a pistol platform. Had a 6-223 TC carbine for a while. An extra XP100 action we put a 6TCU rifle together, 1-8” twist. Runs 55-80’s great with AA2200 and H335 being my favorite powders. This project was done the year before the 6ARC came out.
Forum.accurateshooter.comBought a rifle today, 6x45 what can you tell me about this?
WEBApr 18, 2021 · JSH said: 6-223/6x45/6TCU/6-223AI, never had one that was picky on what it was fed. H335 and 70-80 grain bullet will shoot in them more times than not. It will perform over what you would think. Drum banging going on with the 6ARC with heavies, the 6-223 sees little from the masses.
Forum.accurateshooter.comBest Powders in the 6.5x55 SE - Shooters' Forum
WEBFeb 26, 2022 · I've been using 6.5x55 for over 20 years (not the same rifle). 20" to 22" barrels. For 120gr bullets I use Vit N150 or RL17/RS60. For 139grAB and 140grSST I use Vit N555. Those powders give me a good fill of powder and a clean complete burn. For a 24" barrel then powders in the 4831/Vit N160 will do the job.

WEBFeb 7, 2017 · Use Lapua brass - expensive but better than US cases and it'll last a long time at standard 6.5X55 loads. If you're still worried, well just stick to the reloading manuals' maxima - even at 45,000 psi you will get excellent performance, such is the very good external ballistics performance of 6.5mm 130-140gn bullets.

WEBJul 6, 2020. #11. I have a Cooper in 6X45mm and while it shoots fantastic not sure why Cooper puts 1/14 Twist barrels on their 6X45's my several AR's in 6x45 were all 1/10. The 6x45 is one of my favorites for sure. I wish my Cooper bolt had a 1/9 twist so I could try some heavier/longer offerings.
