The Internet Governance Working Group (IGWG) is a global, multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue and collaboration on Internet governance issues. It was established in 2005 by the United Nations' Internet Governance Forum (IGF) to provide a space for diverse voices to be heard and to help build consensus on Internet policy issues.

The IGWG is composed of representatives from governments, the private sector, civil society, and the technical community. It meets annually in conjunction with the IGF, and its work is guided by a set of principles that emphasize transparency, inclusiveness, and consensus-building.

The IGWG's work is organized around six thematic areas:

* **Access and affordability:** Promoting universal access to the Internet and making it more affordable for all.
* **Critical Internet resources:** Ensuring the stability and security of critical Internet resources, such as the domain name system (DNS) and the root servers.
* **Data governance:** Developing policies and practices for the responsible use and sharing of data.
* **Digital inclusion:** Bridging the digital divide and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the digital economy.
* **Emerging technologies:** Exploring the implications of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), for Internet governance.
* **Human rights and the Internet:** Promoting the protection of human rights online, including freedom of expression, privacy, and access to information.

The IGWG's work has helped to shape the global debate on Internet governance and has contributed to the development of a number of key policy initiatives, including the NETmundial Initiative and the Paris Call for Trust and Security in Cyberspace.

In addition to its annual meeting, the IGWG also organizes a number of workshops and other events throughout the year. It also maintains a website and social media presence, where it shares information about its work and provides opportunities for public engagement.
