Houston Pets Alive! is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fighting to end euthanasia in Houston and Harris County. Our mission is to ensure that every adoptable cat and dog finds a loving, permanent home, and that owned pets have access to essential veterinary care to keep them happy and healthy.

Houston Pets Alive! was founded in 2010 by a group of dedicated animal welfare advocates who were determined to make a difference in the lives of Houston's homeless pets. Since then, we have grown into one of the largest and most successful animal rescue organizations in the country.

We operate a state-of-the-art adoption center in the heart of Houston, where we provide a safe and loving environment for our animals. We also partner with a network of foster homes to provide temporary care for our animals until they find their forever homes.

In addition to our adoption program, we also offer a variety of other programs and services to help pets and their families. These programs include:

• Veterinary care: We provide affordable veterinary care to owned pets, including vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and microchipping.


• Pet food bank: We provide free pet food to families in need.


• Pet education: We offer a variety of educational programs to teach people about responsible pet ownership.

We are proud of the work that we do to help the animals of Houston. We believe that every animal deserves a loving home, and we are committed to making that happen.
