CWGC.org is a registered charity that cares for the graves and memorials of the Commonwealth war dead. The Commission was founded in 1917, and its work is based on the belief that every war dead Commonwealth serviceman or woman deserves to be remembered, and that their graves and memorials should be protected and maintained for future generations.

The CWGC looks after over 23,000 cemeteries and memorials in more than 150 countries and territories around the world. These sites commemorate the 1.7 million Commonwealth servicemen and women who died during the First and Second World Wars.
