Climate Action 100+ (CA100+) is a collaborative investor initiative to engage with the world’s largest corporate greenhouse gas emitters, to ensure that they take necessary action on climate change. CA100+ has the support of 636 investors with over US$52 trillion in assets under management.

Climate Action 100+ was launched in December 2017 and is coordinated by 5 investor networks: Asia Investor Group on Climate Change, Ceres, Investor Group on Climate Change, Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, and Principles for Responsible Investment. CA100+ is also advised by the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

The CA100+ initiative is focused on engaging with the world’s largest corporate greenhouse gas emitters, which are responsible for two-thirds of global industrial greenhouse gas emissions. CA100+ investors engage with these companies on four key themes: governance, emissions reduction targets, climate-related financial disclosure, and lobbying.

CA100+ has been successful in engaging with a number of major companies, including BHP, BP, Chevron, and ExxonMobil. These companies have all made commitments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and improve their climate-related disclosures.
