Bill Michelmore is an experienced sports journalist and broadcaster, who has worked for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. He is best known for his work on the BBC's Grandstand programme, which he presented from 1973 to 1988.

Michelmore was born in London in 1943. He began his career in journalism as a reporter for the BBC in 1964. In 1968, he joined ITV as a sports presenter. He returned to the BBC in 1973 to present Grandstand.

During his time on Grandstand, Michelmore covered some of the biggest sporting events in the world, including the Olympic Games, the World Cup and the Wimbledon Championships. He also presented a number of other sports programmes for the BBC, including Sportsnight and Match of the Day.

Michelmore left the BBC in 1988 to join Channel 4. He presented a number of sports programmes for Channel 4, including The Big Breakfast and The Channel 4 Racing Show. He also worked as a commentator for Formula One racing.

Michelmore retired from broadcasting in 2005. He now lives in London with his wife and two children.
