The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) is a research, policy, and advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening and advancing the work of public universities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. APLU was founded in 1887 as the Association of American Agricultural Colleges and Experiment Stations. The organization's name was changed to the Association of Land-Grant Colleges and Universities in 1902 and to its current name in 1994. APLU is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
