Amy Chan is a cross-platform performer, director, writer, producer, and advocate. Whether its writing music, books, and poetry; creating social justice campaigns or advocating for vulnerable communities at the local and national level, her passion in life is to create a better world. Amy has nearly twenty years of experience in media and the non-profit sector. Her experience includes running social media campaigns for nonprofits, organizing demonstrations, workshops, and conferences, performing her poetry and music at social justice rallies, and traveling nationally to speak on topics ranging from mental health to the importance of social justice. Amy Chan holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law. Her artistic influences include Jill Scott, Prince, Saul Williams, Lauryn Hill, Bell Hooks, Junot Diaz, and Audre Lorde. Amy Chan is currently the Executive Director of Write On, Girl, a nonprofit organization that empowers diverse high school girls to become powerful writers and leaders through the art of creative writing.
