ABRCMS (Association for the Advancement of Black Culture in Medical Sciences, Inc.) is the largest community of underrepresented minority (URM) biomedical and behavioral scientists in the world. For nearly 50 years, ABRCMS has strived to increase the number of URM students, post-docs, and faculty in biomedical research. They have a mission "to increase representation of Black biomedical researchers in the United State".

ABRCMS was founded in November 1976 by a small group of Black biomedical researchers. The organization's first annual meeting was held in 1978 at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and was attended by 300 people. Since then, ABRCMS has grown to over 10,000 members and holds an annual conference that attracts over 3,000 attendees.

ABRCMS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The organization is headquartered in Atlanta, GA, and has a staff of over 20 employees. ABRCMS is funded by a variety of sources, including membership dues, conference fees, grants, and donations.

ABRCMS offers a variety of programs and services to its members, including:
