Abertay University is a public university in Dundee, Scotland. Named after the city's mediaeval provost, Sir William Abertay, the university was founded in 1894 as the Dundee Institute of Technology. It gained university status in 1994.

The university has three campuses: Bell Street, which is home to the School of Business and Law; the City Campus, which is home to the schools of Arts, Media and Design, Engineering and Computer Science, and Applied Sciences; and the Gardyne Campus, which is home to the School of Health and Social Care.

Abertay University offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as part-time and online courses. The university is also home to a number of research centers, including the Center for Computational Intelligence and the Center for Energy Policy.
