The Van Gogh Museum is a Dutch art museum dedicated to the works of Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries in the Museum Square in Amsterdam South, close to the Stedelijk Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Concertgebouw. The museum opened on June 2, 1973, and its buildings were designed by Gerrit Rietveld and Kisho Kurokawa.

The museum contains the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world. It also has a large collection of works by other artists, including Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The museum's collection is divided into four main sections:

* **Paris period:** These works date from Van Gogh's time in Paris, when he was influenced by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists.

* **Saint-Rémy-de-Provence period:** These works date from Van Gogh's time in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, when he was suffering from mental illness.

The Van Gogh Museum is one of the most popular museums in the Netherlands. In 2017, it was visited by over 2.3 million people. The museum is open every day of the week, and admission is charged.
