AWDSOA’s mission is to serve its members and the deaf and hard of hearing communities by facilitating advocacy, collaboration, information sharing and professional development. Visit their website at http://www.awdsoa.org/.

AWDSOA was founded in 1949 to provide a national forum for the exchange of ideas and information among professionals working with deaf and hard of hearing students. Today, AWDSOA has more than 1,500 members representing all 50 states and several foreign countries.

AWDSOA works with parents, advocates and professionals to increase awareness about the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students. AWDSOA believes that all students deserve access to a high-quality education that meets their individual needs.

AWDSOA provides a number of services to its members, including:
